#16 - WARMTH

From Knitting, etc.

Over the holiday, I made quite a few knitted gifts for friends and family. Unfortunately in my messiness, I didn't photograph all of them - WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME?! But I did make sure to get a few photos of my brother's Thermis before he opened the box on Christmas morning. It knitted up super quick in Cascade 220 Superwash (and used less than one ball of yarn)! The pattern kept me interested and I picked some pretty excellent buttons from A Tangled Skein to finish it off.

From Knitting, etc.

But the best part was my brother's reaction of surprise that I could even make something like this. Aside from my own personal enjoyment, I'm pretty sure that's why I knit in the first place. Surely, my handknits keep my friends and family toasty, but it's more about the feeling of warmth I get by sharing these things with the people I love.

I'm working on lots of destashing / hibernating projects in preparation for the Ravelympics, so fingers crossed, I'll have more to share in the coming days.

Great job! This looks so cozy! I agree - I think the best part about knitting for others is their reaction when they receive the gift. I definitely need to do more gift knitting. Thanks for the reminder! :)

You didn't take pictures!? What kind of knitter are you?? Just teasing. My husband actually teases me mercilessly for taking TOO many pictures of my knitting. He calls it my yarn porn. :)

That looks amazing! I often ask myself why I don't knit. I'll have to make that a goal of this year. :)
